## Lesson Title: Physical Fitness and Population, Concept of Social Injustice, Advance Fee Fraud
### Lesson Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Understand the importance of physical fitness and its impact on health.
2. Comprehend the concept of population and its implications on resources and society.
3. Identify and understand social injustice and ways to address it.
4. Explain what advance fee fraud is and recognize strategies to avoid it.
### Materials Needed:
- Whiteboard and markers
- Projector and computer for presentations
- Handouts with information on each topic
- Poster boards and art supplies for group activities
- Videos on each topic (found ahead of time)
- Case study examples of social injustice and advance fee fraud
### Lesson Duration:
- 90 minutes
### Warm-Up Activity (10 minutes):
1. Start with a brief discussion on the importance of health and community.
2. Ask students to share what they do to stay healthy and if they know any challenges communities face.
### Section 1: Physical Fitness and Population (30 minutes)
#### Introduction (5 min)
- Define physical fitness and its components (strength, endurance, flexibility).
- Explain what population means and its significance.
#### Activity 1: Physical Fitness (10 min)
1. Show a short video about the benefits of physical fitness.
2. Conduct a simple stretching or aerobic exercise with the class.
3. Discuss how physical activity can prevent diseases and improve overall well-being.
#### Activity 2: Discussing Population (15 min)
1. Show a chart or video about population growth and its effects on resources.
2. Group Discussion: How does population growth affect our environment and resources like water, food, and space?
3. Students will work in pairs to come up with ideas on how communities can manage resources better.
### Section 2: Concept of Social Injustice (25 minutes)
#### Introduction (5 min)
- Define social injustice, providing examples (inequality, discrimination).
#### Activity 1: Case Study and Discussion (10 min)
1. Present a short case study or story that highlights social injustice.
2. Group Activity: In small groups, students discuss the case study and identify the elements of injustice.
#### Activity 2: Solution Brainstorming (10 min)
1. Groups share their findings and discuss potential solutions to combat social injustice.
2. Class brainstorming session to create a list of ways students can promote fairness and equality in their community.
### Section 3: Advance Fee Fraud (25 minutes)
#### Introduction (5 min)
- Define advance fee fraud and give a brief history of common scams.
#### Activity 1: Real-life Examples (10 min)
1. Present examples of advance fee fraud using news articles or videos.
2. Class Discussion: What warning signs did these cases show? How could they have been avoided?
#### Activity 2: Role-Playing (10 min)
1. In pairs, students act out scenarios where one tries to scam the other. The other student should recognize the scam and respond appropriately.
2. Discussion on how to report such frauds and whom to contact for help.
### Closing Activity (5 minutes)
- Quick recap of the lesson’s main points.
- Hand out a small worksheet with 3-4 questions covering each topic for students to complete as homework.
- Encourage students to discuss what they’ve learned with their families and share one new thing they’ll do to stay healthy, support justice, and avoid fraud.
